Nuri has been writing for as long as they can remember. It began as a way to express the things they were too afraid to say out loud, which was a lot, and has turned into a ring buoy when they are drowning in the waters of living. Growing up in the American Midwest, they spent a great deal of time in the pages of books. They enjoy exploration that brings them closer to witnessing and perhaps understanding the complexities of life, death, and what's in-between. 

They now mainly write fiction and nonfiction, but their roots are in poetry. Earlier unpublished journals include topics central to the young person they were: fear, love, fairness, doubt, faith. Time has taught them that these themes, and many more, are just as relevant for them today as they were then.
